  • Fold out Step for Wagonaire

    Hello,

I am looking for the fold down ladder/step for a Wagonaire. This is the ladder/step that mounted to the inside of the tailgate and could be folded out of the profile to allow the user to step into the cargo area easier. I suppose I could find a piece of pipe and have one made, but I don't have a good reference to the mounting points. Please PM me if you have one to sell.

I added one to my Wagonaire years ago. at the time I was told there is a brace inside the tailgate to help support the additional weight when one steps on the step. Hoping someone can confirm this here. Also don't forget the little clip that holds the step in place when the tailgate is closed.

There was an NOS step floating around on eBay a while back. I was watching it for my Wagonaire but got distracted and missed the end of the auction. I wasn't overly concerned as my Wagonaire had one from the factory.
Mark is correct find one of those clips if you can, seem to be harder to find than the step. Also there are four long Philip screws for the tailgate mounting you'll need.

My 1963 Daytona Wagonaire was built with one, and many other accessories.

I remember the step kits selling, NOS, for $10 (those days are gone forever).

I sold a NOS one on eBay a year or so ago for around $50.
