  • Buzz bomb blue

Many comments on this board revolve around "resale red". I came across this M-5 pickup (mislabeled as a 1949) that looks like it has been hit with "buzz bomb blue". They got it all, windows, tires, chrome, etc. Still can't hide the dents, though.

Blue wall tires, that's a new one.

There used to be a member in our chapter with a '49 half ton. When he rebuilt the engine, he painted the entire engine the same shade of dark blue as the rest of the truck; spark plugs, wires, everything. [:0]

And I have seen a 'nice looking' non-Stude sitting by the road with fresh paint. Even the two-feet high weeds next to the truck had fresh paint too! Needless to say we kept on ridin'.

Not "a new one" Matthew, but older than you. Just yesterday, while clearing out my father's house, I ran across an advertisement for colored wall car tires. I believe that it was a 1960 BF Goodrich ad.

If I recall, many whitewall tires (expecially the later narrow stripe ones) actually were delivered with the whitewall covered in blue that you then scrubbed off.
