I looked at the Barbara Walters Avanti when it was for sale many years ago. I believe that it was a 1973-1976 (leaning more toward 1976). The only things that I remember is that it was in good condition except for cracks in the front fenders from oversize tires and not a very appealing interior (like most '70s Avantis) and that the price was too high.

I never new that Sandy Koufax had an Avanti. He lives here in Vero Beach FL. I met him one time when he was considering the purchase of a car my father had for sale. I rode around with him driving. He decided a Mercedes C220 was not big enough for him as he is pretty tall. He is a to himself kind of guy and does not like to sign anything.

Just recently on his evening radio show Mr. Cooper mentioned that he loved driving his 1963 Studebaker Avanti, and that he had owned several at one time.
