    on studebker coupes their is a piece that protrudes above fender beneath quarter window is their a piece of chrome that covers it can it be removed and smoothed out why is this projection there?

    Do you mean '53-64 C/K models (Coupes and Hardtops)?

    If so, the rear quarter panels on these cars are removable. That "T-Strip" covers the seam between the quarter and the body in that area.

    It probably could be removed and the quarter welded to the body at that point. That sort of defeats the purpose of removable rear quarters, however.

    If this isn't what you are describing, maybe a picture?

        yep that's the piece i'm seeing is there a chrome or stainless strip that covers it

            To my knowledge, these were always body color. Classic Enterprises sells a replacement. Thankfully, the ones on my '53 were reusable.

              To my knowledge, these were always body color. Classic Enterprises sells a replacement. Thankfully, the ones on my '53 were reusable.

                Nothing covers it. A molding sits between it and the quarter glass.
