Right..read the fine print.....the brochure says Studebaker "makes available" overdrive. Probably same for hill holder when it states "hill holder built in".

The overdrive was $44.50 extra in the Dictator and $49.50 on the President. Hill Holder $10.00 extra on either model. The U Joints are not available. Most restorers convert them to the standard drive shaft and u-joints.

I have a 1937 Dictator and it doesn't have overdrive.

Just wondering what literature said it was standard?

    1937 studebaker dictator battery location

There is a 1937 restored Studebaker Dictator for sale on Ebay in Canada. Where is the battery located on this car? Commercial auto shippers want easy access to battery if they
have to jump start a car if battery is dead even a 6 volt one. Also the 37 Studebaker had a unique rear "U" joints.....are they still available ? Literature says overdrive and the
hill holder is standard.....true ?? Thanks.
Working...
