  • Rat Rod Avanti

I purchased a 85 Avanti with good mechanics but poor paint and interior.
This is my interpretation of a Rat Rod.............
I will let you know how it goes............

Is that what is in your Avanti?

It should be OK with the right tranny, engine, and tire size.

Does this mean you now consider it a rat rod, or are you going to do something to turn it into a rat rod?

Poor paint and upholstery cab be fixed...........it just takes money.

              Yes, pictures would be nice.

2.87 might be OK with a 700R4 transmission, since it has a lower first gear.

An Avanti will never be a real rat rod. No rust holes all over.

I think I will wrap the cars like they do race cars............
Use racing stickers to cover the car..............

I remember you asking about it. Duct tape comes in a lot of colors so that solves the interior issue. A decent rear end ratio is not expensive and if it's a TBI you can get a chip burned for cheap, then drive the wheels off of it. If it's still the goofy carb, get a decent one out of your garage add a VooDoo cam and forge ahead fearlessly. Might want to check the license on the young lady afore she hits the highway, though.

                              Enjoy, Bob
