  • '53? Coupe? on Ebay

Appears to be a '54 Hardtop for $57,5000![:0] I don't usually waste my time picking apart Ebay auctions but I know some of you get a kick out of it and, sometimes proffer salient observations.
    Have at it.

No picking here, it's probably worth every penny of the bid and that's way less then it cost to build. there are 100-200K Studebaker rods out there, so his is not that unusual.

    63 R2 SuperHawk (Caesar)
    spent to date $54,758.75
    64 R2 GT (Sid)

    63 Lark 2 door
    52 Starliner
    51 Commander

Well OK. I think it sits a little high in the back, I don't know why anyone would substitute a '54 grill on a '53, and his trunk space is seriously compromised. Still...pretty sweet.

I'm a BIG fan of flames on a hot rod, and I'm NUTS about the latest style of them...

...but I'm not crazy about them on a '53-54. Messes up the lines IMHO.

That is artistry, Dick. On this particular '53? '54? it is not.

I like the color but would omit the flames and, no, I would not kick it out of my garage. I don't need the car to jump off the ground on the base notes, nor the ghetto cans on the exhaust. I expect I'll drive my '53 more when it's done than the owner of this one ever did.

Here's a 53 Coupe and a brand x with the flames Dick likes.

My '54 took a GoodGuys pick at Famoso a couple of years ago. I think I would have lost BIG TIME to that one you pictured. Awsome []
