  • Silly Stude Part ID Contest - Prize Involved

    OK...
Here's a contest for you Studebaker parts guru's...
I have a friend that is trying to sell a nicely re-chromed Stude rear bumper.
He 'thought' it was a '49.... But was told it wasn't.
    So here's the deal...
    Look at the pic's at:

First one to 'correctly' ID this bumper (so it can find a new home) will win a cool prize from my prize closet.....

    Here's a pic...

A 1949 to early 1955 Chevrolet and GMC Truck Bumper. Not even close to any year Studebaker Bumper.

    She's in sweet condition though!

I think it's got too much curve at the ends to be a Chevy or GMC bumper.

My dad had a '55 Chevy 3100 (2nd series) and that bumper wraps way too far around the side to be for that truck. It also looks shorter (height wise) as well. Ours was painted white and not chrome.

Before the engine finally played out, it would go through a quart of straight 50 weight oil every 25 miles.

Well...send it to me. Even if it don't fit my '51, I think I could cobble it on there. I assure you, it will look better than the flaking chrome on the original.

The title says "silly Stude part." So I think we need to stick with Stude. But it sure doesn't ring a bell with me.
