  • Sad ending

Having more fun than a guy should be allowed...although I should be crying.

I managed to get a spare '63 windshield and found two OHV heads but not much else more, in a stash of Studes that have been slowing sinking into the ground. Another sad ending to a bunch of cars that could have 'lived' on, but were instead left to rot under trees. Now the owner is 85 and has dementia. His wife is having them hauled away and let some of us come glean a few parts before the cat & flatbed comes. Wish I could have gotten under them and harvested trannies and solenoids. Could have used some Saginaw steering...
It's really a heartbreaker and getting those heads was a backbreaker!

So.....if I'm 'pre-approved' why do you want me to fill out an application?

Looks like the typical Western Washington rust buckets we find all the time up here in the North end Tom! [:0]

Usually all that is left is a tranny or 44 axle here and there (on the Wagons), kingpins and spindles and maybe a brake drum or two!

It's really a shame when they are left outside and become overgrown with wild raspberry (sticker bushes) and sink into the ground like that.[V] That one looks like it's down to the spindle in the ground!

By the time I could drive my rollback down there 140 miles down & back again three times, I would be upside down trying to get the gas money back out of those things! [V]

Frank is only 70 and just has CRS, not dementia. [8D]

Any chance that one of those Studes was a 59-60 Lark and had a wiper motor still attached to it????

Or a '61 Lark Cruiser that still has the intact, correct faux chrome taillight lenses?
