Thanks, but I need the later diagram for cars without the relay.

JP - When I was scratching my head over my new trans with OD, Mr. Biggs sent me this message. No diagram, but I think it is self-explanatory - I figured it out and it works perfectly. This is for the later 3-terminal solenoid, no relay (12V).

            Quote!
The reverse lockout switch is really not necessary so long as you're setting the OD up to work as it should. In fact, that's why the lockout Sw was done away with after 1955 - someone realized it was unlikely you'd ever find yourself going fast enough for the OD to engage when you were backing up!
As Tom says, you can just leave the switch in place to fill it's hole and simply wire from the governor to the #4 terminal (this was a green wire if you wanna stay with the factory colors - 18gage will do). In other words - the switch still in place, but with NO wires attached to it!
The #8 terminal of the Sol gets a 14 or 12 gage wire (red, if you wanna use the right colors)that goes to one of the two terminals that are closest to the plunger on the kickdown switch. The OTHER terminal of the KD Sw that's closest to the plunger gets wired (14 or 12 gage red wire again) to a 14amp inline fuse and the fuse is fed directly off the battery side of the starter solenoid.
The #6 terminal of the OD solenoid gets a black wire to one of the terminals farthest from the KD Switch's plunger and then a black wire goes from the opposite side terminal (farthest from the switch's plunger) to the + terminal of the Ign coil.
Wired like this - OD control cable installed right, and you're good to go!
            Unquote!

Hope this helps, and thanks again to Mr. Biggs!

I'll look at my stash tomorrow. I might well have one.

Thanks Bob, I'd rather not have to buy a NOS one.
