Cool stove. Could be the fellow is tired of people running his cars down and trying to get them for nothing.
I need to get my camera fixed. Well... cleaned anyway.

There was a beautiful (I would guess original by the paint) toothpaste (seafoam?) green and white '56 Transtar in Anderson on Sunday. The owner was wearing a Cheshire Cat grin as I went around the corner rubbernecking at his truck (Yes he saw me do the double-take). Looked to be perfect. One would guess (kinda romantically hope) it was his grampa's (or someone's grampa's) truck.

    Cool stove sink.

Was that setup for LNG or Nat Gas?

If Nat Gas, you will need to re-jet the orifice for LNG.

And its age I'm assuming it has a non thermal couple pilot light. Plumb a good ball valve that is visible as well as reachable so you can shut off while not in use.
LNG settles to the floor in its natural state. You don't smell it as quickly as Nat Gas.

Don't want your bus turning in to a scud missile..

    Just FYI..

My wife are here visiting a friend and saw the car yesterday. Did not stop but could see it was a bullet nose. Quite a few classics in the area. Lake Tahoe is beyond beautiful and very popular.

It wasn't too big of a secret Anne- you could'a shared the story all you wanted.

Yes, as I pulled up their maintenance man had just started to disconnect it. I was a bit bummed because they didn't know if all the burners worked, or just the one. I wanted to check it out, but didn't get that chance. It wasn't nearly as heavy as I thought it would be- even with all the trash it had accumulated over the years. One bonus to that is that as we loaded it into the truck I found an old ash tray from the hotel that I will keep with it.

Now I just have to plan a day to clean it.
    It's quite nasty!!!

Jon, you got that right. I told my wife the same thing. He was a jerk.

I second the comment about the guy running you off the lot. Maybe it depends on his mood. He was really disagreeable to me when I tried to befriend him. I'll never stop there again. the guy was a big jerk to me.

I'm Sure glad that you got it. Did they have it all unhooked for you? When I was in Tahoe for Hot August Nights this was in our room. I thought that it was neat I posted pictures on Facebook. StudeDave saw it and wanted one for his StudeBus. Well I asked the owner if it was for sale and she agreed to sell it. So I exchanged contact info and StudeDave made the deal. It is really neat a 3 burner stove with a sink, refrigerator on the bottom and one drawer. Oh also a Timer. It is a General Chef. Phew finally I got to share the story. Congratulations !!!

Be glad you did not talk to the owner. He will run you off the lot.

Used to be a lot of Hudsons (and others) parked there under the canopy for years. Always strange to see vintage foreign cars with mudgrip tires on them (they were there, too).

EDIT: Found the pics. Took these in June, 2009.Click image for larger version

There was another one on the lot, but I did not stop to get the details. I'll bet Roy knows about them being that they are like 50 miles (or less) from his place...
