What do you think this Daytona & GT are worth?

A company called Nelson Automotive Group in Marysville Ohio has two Studebakers for sale. Both are far from original, but are given the old "best car ever" spin by the dealer. I stopped and looked at both and think they are over-priced. I know, they are worth whatever someone will pay for them, but what do you think would be a reasonable price for each?

Well, the 259 in the Hawk does't add to the value...

That 65 has a 4 cylinder fuel injection. With 135K miles. They are reading tenths as miles

These specialty shops often get the cars that the owners could not sell any other way. That means the prices are always higher at these shops than they would be "on the street" as it were.

They also tend to go for paint and chrome and neglect operation, and positively know noting about authenticity. If it looks pretty, they will try to sell it.

The '63 GT being an early '63, sporting '64 Hub Caps, a '64 Hood Ornament in the WRONG place, a '62 Horn Rim, and a '58 Horn Button, does nothing to add value either!

The aftermarket Stereo and Chrysler Alternator are probably a wash, or neutral to the desirability or value.
Being a 4 Speed Car, it should bring about 10-12,000.

I would not be a bit surprised if it IS a 289, and they just do not know it!

Really, EVERY attempt huh! The Serial Number shows it to be a 283 V8, quite a long way from a Four!

Nelson has advertised Studebakers quite a few times before, and they are probably as honest as the quality of their help allows, and most likely NOT really bad people, just not doing their homework or Auto knowledgeable.

Larry, since you saw the 2 cars, what did the Daytona actually have for an engine? Obviously Studebaker never made a fuel injected in-line 4 so the question is, did somebody do a swap using maybe an Olds/Pontiac Iron Duke or (more than likely) was the person writing the copy utterly clueless?

Inquiring minds want to know!

I don't know the source of the 4 cyl. in the Daytona, but it is there.
