Attended a car show in Cadillac, Mi. this past weekend and although my car got a lot of attention, when it came time to vote I noticed that on the voting form there was no line for Studebaker, Other or Orphan, only cars from the Big 3, trucks and motorcycles. One fellow noticed that there were no Buicks entered so he crossed out Buick and entered Studebaker. It was nice of him but made no difference. I'm really not complaining as I got to see a lot of great cars, in particular an original condition 36 Dodge, but it would be nice to be able to compete on a level field.

I HAVE NEVER ATTENDED A CAR SHOW THAT HAD A STUDEBAKER OR ORPHAN CLASS, EXCEPT FOR AN ORPHAN MEET. MOST CAR SHOWS DO HAVE A SPECIAL INTEREST CLASS WHICH IS USUALLY THE CLASS I ENTER MY STUDES.

What would you expect from Cadillac, Mich?

Just another attempt at the "big 3" to diss their neighbor to the South.

hang in there. things will get better. just finished our 13th show since buying our lark in january. won best of show for cars 1970 and down. had 131 cars. we have placed 1st or second in all shows but winning is not what makes owning a studebaker such fun . folks stand in line to ask questions or share a studebaker story. we owners are lucky to be part of american history. i have done many ventures but have enjoyed our studebaker more than any others. keep going to shows and cruise ines.

I have never taken my car to a show, it is still a project in the works, but I do drive it around a little, and if stopped I almost always get asked questions, and yes, often I hear Studebaker stories also. I also teach at a 1400+ high school, and have driven the car to school a few times. Lots of the students consider me the guy with the cool or awesome car. Not the teacher with the souped up Mustang, or the little blue MG, it's the Stude driver!

Personally, I don't like judging of any kind. The only exception to this is our annual Studebaker and Orphan Car Show sponsored by the Long Island Studebaker Club. At least here it's an even field and Studes have a chance.

At the 10th Annual Coronado SpeedFest they had the 2nd Annual Meguiar's Car Coral~ which is really just a big car show held during the Vintage races. They had classes for just about all you could imagine, but nothing for Studes.

Last year I ended up in the '60s Cars Class~
but I lost out to cars with their own class~
who didn't have enough class to show in it!!!

They could at least have an "Other" class for all of those makes that are not GM, Ford or Chrysler![xx(]
