I don't have the dimensions but when I owned a '63 R1, it used the same air filter element as my '64 Pontiac Bonneville 389 4-barrel.

Thanks , but that's not good enough for my local FLAP store . I also was told that a Ford 289 HP filter is the same but they told me they need measurements in order to match me up .

          Old stock # Purolator AFP-80
          2 3/16 Height 13 1/4 Diameter Filter material about 1 inch thick

Really, is it so hard for them to just look up a Police Interceptor 406 '64 Ford or one of MANY Hi-Performance Fords using that Element?

Yes, it is.....that is ALSO 50 years old. Most FLAPS don't and won't want to list anything other than what sells well.
It's a fact of life, if you are in the old car business, then you HAVE to be YOUR OWN PARTS PERSON . In other words it's up to you to research what fits and doesn't fit, AND THE CURRENT PART NUMBERS.
If you find a parts store wiling to look in books, and cross references for you, then you are in the MINORITY.

WIX 42063, NAPA 2063, or Fram CA-114 also work.

Or if you do a search on the forum you get this link..
