  • Just a new guy

I just found out about this board through the HAMB, Jalopy Journal site. I was referred here because I was advertising my dads 52 Studebaker truck.
I wish I had time to redo it but I'm about 70% into a Ford truck street rod project.
I'll add a link to my photobucket page so you guys can check it out. There are also pictures from the Moonshine Festival in Dawsonvlle Georgia last year.
Some help in identifying the truck would be great...don't worry, the caddy motor is already gone, the Stude flathead six and tranny are still here although stuck. Thanks.
I've already looked at a bunch of pictures on the site, some real nice Studebakers on here.

Playing on my daughters laptop, takes a lot longer to find stuff when she keeps moving it around...thats the excuse I'll use today anyway.
Pictures here. Enjoy. My Ford is on the last page sans body.

                Welcome, Stu

I enjoyed your album. The Stude has possibilities. Do you have an asking price? Do I understand right, the original engine and trans go with it?

If you hang around here for a while, you may decide to come over to the orphan side and redo the Stude yourself.

I especially was intrigued with the unique tranny mount you have installed on your Ford chassis.

The tranny mount is for those swingers out there. It has been replaced since the pic was taken with a non swinging crossmember.

The truck is for sale at $1800 firm. The truck is solid, was redone prior to my dad buying it, interior is nice except for the dust, paint is bad, painted with laquer over 20 years ago. Original engine and tranny go with it, flathead six and 3 speed, driveshaft is in the bed of the truck also. Unfortunately, my dad torched off the engine mounts and a section of the front crossmember when he started but of course never finished the caddy engine install. I drove this truck around to some cruises when he first got it, it drove good and ran good, he just let it sit too long. I should redo it myself but really don't have time...or the extra $$. I'm sure everyone can identify with that.

Jerry, I live less than 2 miles from your store, been meaning to stop by and check it out. I'm over on Burnt Hickory 1.5 miles north of 78, brick house with a metal garage, can't miss it. Is that your red 40 Ford coupe I see at your store? I like it.

Yeah, I think I know where you live. Didn't you put up the garage just last year?

Stu, welcome by anytime. The '40 (all original except for the 12 volt system) belongs to Robert. He has the streetrod shop in the back of my building and runs the store for me. I got fed up with the whole store thing a couple years ago and tried to retire. He convinced me to keep the store open, let him run it and all I would have to do is the paper work. Now I'm still there every day doin paper work and a little bit of work on the '55 Pres. Come by anytime.
