  • '63 GT Hawk "refreshing"

Here's a couple pics of my grandma's GT. Built in October, '62.
66K original miles, Standard 289, FOM trans, power steering, power disc brakes, trunk mounted antennai, TT rear (with emblem on the gas filler door ), and probably some stuff I'm forgetting. [B)]

Bought out of Daytona Beach, FL in 1992, and babied ever since. It's getting a much deserved driver-quality repaint, new seat covers, a good cleaning; and then we're gonna drive the wheels off of it. [8D]

It just amazes me at how solid this car really is. (And it's an east coast car! [)]) Even the front fender lights work.
Pass. side door is removed now to have the hinges rebuilt.

    Aftermarket radio and A/C.

It's not nearly as thorough as Dick's GT repaint, but, then again, ours isn't going to end up in as a museum piece either. [)]

    EDIT: Here's a trivia question... [8D]

Take a good look at the interior pic. Other than the radio and A/C unit, can anyone spot anything else that isn't correct for this car?

Good luck! Winner gets to go for a spin in their Stude. [)]

I believe Bob B. nailed it! '62 horn ring wasnt' really a ring - it was a "wing" - or "bar" if you will.

looks like an earlier gear shift knob as well, I'd say both are incorrect for a '62 GT! Unless the shift knob is really white and just needs wiped off.

Can't be a 62......... can't see concrete thru the floor.
Also, those are 63 hubcaps, 62 should be black "S", red background, black outer rim. Dash looks like a 62. I must be getting confused. I will shut up and return to hibernation, and football games.
