  • Unmistakable Studebaker photo

I have been buying Studebaker photos on eBay for several years now and I have more than I can organize. It is interesting when a picture comes up and it isn't labeled Studebaker, but you know it is.

As Bob Bourke said one time "Nobody ever designed a rear door like this", and I think that is true (except maybe for the Hillman which was a copy of the Studebaker).

This vendor is in Germany, but occasionally has Studebaker photos. This little girl looks like she is sitting in a Studebaker. Can anyone identify the year? It looks like it might be a 56 President because of the arm rest.

I will place my bets its a '56. The diamond pattern you can just see on the cloth portion of the seat is a giveaway.

My bet 1956 commander my dad had one and my sister and I spent all our riding time in back seat the horizontal lines on uper door panel look correct for that model. my dad kept his 56 for 12 yaers. Girls clothing is period correct as I remember it. That was 50 plus years I still remember the day my dad picked up his new 1956 commander

No argument there! It is the 116-1/2" wheelbase 4 door model; not 120-1/2". That rear door window is a dead giveaway.
