  • Lighted Fender Spears?

Which models had them? Discovered that my new-to-me 64 GT has at least one (on the left front fender). I didn't think any of them lite! Where did I go wrong?

They illuminated on both sides for the '63 & '64 GT models. There was also a near flush illuminated spear that was perhaps for the European market.

If you want to have some fun with them, run a jumper wire from either your parking lights or your turn signals and install LEDs. there are some interesting LEDs available encased in a diffuser that should light them up pretty well.

I have a few customers who have fitted kits to 1962 models using the 1963-64 parts. Its a pretty easy installation providing you don't mind cutting a hole in the top of your fender.

And the good news is SI sells the parts to fix or replace the lights.

Yes, actually I had one, but the Marine Police didn't have a patrol car! But the Local, and State Police weren't amused!
Had to change to clear bulbs, not even amber as per 1962 regulations, so they said. Just busting them for me by that point.

Lou, here are the components that make up the spear. These are for a '63. The '64 is probably the same except for the size of the plastic.

I really like what some have done with LEDs.
