pardon me (unless its your engine), but that's simply a 259 engine on a stand. If you can vouch for its mechanical order, its a good buy for someone in need.....otherwise its a "pig in a poke".....

Good grief man, I posted it so that it got exposure here in StudeLand .

It is always up to a buyer to determine the value of anything .

That might be a Delco window distributor. If it is, plus it has a four barrel intake and a decent oil pan then it easily worth $150 whether it is running or not.

Looks like Pbrown needs to snag this one for his new Silverhawk.

Thought about it, but possibly rebuilding an engine would be just one more project to add to the Silver Hawk.

I think for sanity's sake I need to get a complete running engine/transmission so that I can concentrate on other issues.

Bu thanks for thinking of me!!

I agree that $150 is certainly not much, and he also has a tranny for another $50.

Once my Hawk arrives next week and I assess what I need maybe I'll go take a look.

If he's selling the trans for another $50 then he most likely has the bell housing too. You'd have the whole shooting match & wouldn't have to dial it in. Such a deal!

Yeah, I'd get my cash over to his place, pronto, and bring that thing home. By the time you get your car home, do some figurin, sort out finances and finally drive over, someone else is gonna snag it. These kinda deals are rare so close to home. They are usually exactly what you need, but 3000 miles away. This one is just what you need, cheap, and sittin in your back yard.
                    Just my opinion.

perfectly so, if you have a car that has no drivetrain and isn't undergoing a resto...

Dang I would snatch that up if I were closer! Chances are you could put some miles on that engine without much worry.

There is a bell housing on the tranny but not a flywheel. It does have a torque converter. I also have a radiator in perfect chape.

The engine came out of a 61 Lark. I bought it to do a project on a 55 Studebaker coupe I had. Sold the 55 so no reason to keep it. The v8 engines are interchangeable. I acquired the transmission and have no use for it. I am not doing any projects now.

So the transmission is not the one matched to the engine (dial indicating, anyone?)

He emailed me that the engine is sold, but the tranny is still available.

Was the engine bought by anyone here?
