  • Avanti and Gilligan's Island?

After watching the video of the 48 Champion in another thread I came across a video entitled "Surviving Gilligan's Island" from 2001 hosted by Dawn Wells and I had to watch it. There is a quick shot of a black Avanti at 36:40. I thought I had seen everything about Gilligan's Island but this was a new one on me.

Around 1:11:20 a yellow '60 Lark convertible is also in the show. It was shown earlier in a parking space on the lot also.

That's a pretty neat Movie, in this remake of past events, they had marked parking spaces for each Star's Car, The Skipper had a Caddy Convert, Gilligan had an XKE, and I could not read the name signs on the Yellow '60 Lark Convert and Baby Blue '55 T-Bird convert but I would guess Mary Ann and Ginger. There were several shots of parts of the Lark, but the Black '63 Avanti was one of those don't blink shots.

I think that Mary Ann had it all over Ginger!

Sorry for the thread drift but this is a serious subject.

Its gotta be Mary Ann! Ginger couldn't even make an appearance in "Surviving Gilligan's Island". Whoever did the casting for "Surviving Gilligan's Island" really nailed the younger versions on the Professor, Mr & Mrs Howell, and the Skipper. It was good seeing the show again.

Funny, one of my former teaching colleagues is married to a nephew of Dawn Wells. By their firsthand accounts and his recollections growing up, off-screen Mary Ann was more racy than Ginger was portrayed to be. Girl next door...LOL!

Normally I don't partake in sophisticated conversations such as this critical debate but I'll add an emphatic "Ginger" vote for the record. haha

Just Google "Dawn Wells arrest" and read up on it.
She even did several interviews regarding it.
