53 Champ Convertible at Auction : New Photos!

Silver is auctioning a 53 Champion Convertible in Spokane on Oct.6.
It's said to be a "signed George Barris custom" (but he would have spelled it "Kustom").
I'm guessing it would have been at the Spokane meet in 2006.
Anyone know the car?


The photo shown in the mailing flyer is red metallic and is a pretty straight 53 chop top.

The one I saw at Spokane was red. This says it is gold. I think the owner of the red one is on this forum and I don't believe it was done by Barris.

Definitely not our red '53. There was one other '53 convertible at Spokane, but it was shortened and silver in color.

The car pictured was at Sacramento. My understanding it was originally built quite some time ago, but I hadn't heard it had any connection to Barris. Also, I don't think it has a top, so technically it is not a real convertible. It is a pretty neat looking "roadster" though.
