  • Where does this thing go?

We have a very nice piece of chrome trim for pre-war Studes I think, I can't place it. Who knows what this is, and can help solve the Stude mystery of the day?

How wide is it? Hard to tell from this shot.

    Miscreant adrift in
    the BerStuda Triangle

    1960 Larkvertible V8
    1958 Provincial wagon

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

I'm going to make a wild guess, not knowing the thickness, how about a radio delete for 47-49

It only about 2 inches tall and about 12-14 inches long. It has 1 mounting stud on the back- like a bumper bolt (1/2 inch, fine thread) The stamped 'STUDEBAKER' is painted with white paint.

                I thought I saw one on a 47 Commander.........?

This is nothing like the ones that match the height of the bumper, top to bottom on 39's etc.
                My guess is....

A deluxe radio delete plate for a '41 or '42 President. There's only the one photo to go by, plus your 'one bolt-in-center hold-down' description, Mike. Are there two tits at either end that would sit in the holes where the outer radio knobs are? Here's a photo of a radio in a '41 President. Again, without me looking at it or seeing more photos, especially from the rear, I can only guess where it goes. Not to mention, most exterior chrome that had paint in the recesses was usually bright red. White trim would have been used more extensively on interior trim.

Hey Bob40. What's the situation with the columns? I could use 1 or 2 now. How about a '53-4 C-K hood latch and plate?
