Apparently Studes were actually used as police vehicles in RSA 50 years ago.

The Cruiser name was never popular in South Africa. But the Datytona name was, so it was used on top line 1964 models.

However! It's only 3 Studes in one scene. The Grey car is NOT a Studebaker.

I know I've seen a few posts from S Africa. Maybe they'll revisit the forum.
I was aware of the "Studies in Movies" thread, but thought this was somewhat different. If a moderator wants to move it to the old thread I have no objection.

Studebakers in the upcoming Mandela movie
Yesterday we went to see the movie "The Butler". Before it started they ran a trailer for the Mandela movie opening in November. I was surprised to see several Studebakers. At about 1:33 in the video there are four, a finned Hawk, two Larks that appear to be '61s and a white '64 sedan which appears to be a Commander. It appears closer up at about 1:40. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXQsOwBIJ2YTags: None
