  • Heading for my "Home Town"

Today Stu Cool and I are heading to Danville California where I spent my youth from age 5 to 18. They have an annual Hot Summer Nights car show that I have been wanting to go to for some time. Hoping to see some friends from the "good old days."

It will be the start of a busy Studebaker week-end as the Karel Staple chapter is meeting at the Air Museum at Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA on Saturday and then Sunday our street rod club is meeting in the Sierra foothills in Brownsville, CA.

It is supposed to be a hot (triple digit) week-end, glad my AC is working!

That's why we will be taking our Toyota to Travis. See you there.

Had a great time in Danville, good turn out of cars, but there was room for more. Lots of people there and I talked to lots of folks about Studebakers. Even promised one guy I could find him a 53-54 Coupe to buy. There were only two Studes there, my 53 and a very nice old President cabriolet, a 31 I think. I was also very pleased to receive one of their "Town Favorite Choice Awards." Very special coming from my home town.

Perry, I am not nearly as concerned about the drive to Travis as I am about the promise of "No AC" when we get there!
