  • Whatcom County SDC's WeekEnd of StudeFun Sept 6-8, 2013

For maximum visibility, I am cross-posting this here as well as 'Zone Talk'...

    It is now official~
Whatcom County SDC will once again be putting on our Weekend of StudeFun this September.
The dates are 6-8 September, 2013.
Please note the change from past years in that the event is NOT during IDYSD.

    The events run-down as follows~

On Friday 6 September we will have a cruise to Bellwood Acres.
    http://www.bellewoodfarms.com/
This cruise will start at 4:30PM- likely from our 'meet' hotel- the Super Eight in Ferndale.

Saturday, September 7 will see us at the Bell's Studebaker Diner and Museum for their 4th Annual open house. (10AM to 4PM)
Even if you have been here before, you are not gonna wanna miss out on this!!!
There are more then half a dozen vehicles new to the collection,
as well as many other never before seen vehicles that will be on display.
Around 4PM we will line up and head out for a cruise to Boomer's Drive In.
    http://www.boomersdrivein.com/
where we'll relive the car-hop experience once again.

Sunday, September 8th is our 41st Annual Classic Car Show at Hovander Park.
    http://www.co.whatcom.wa.us/parks/hovander/
This show is open to all makes of cars and trucks.
But besides the car show- you'll want to wander around the park itself.
Check the link above to see why!!!

Our 'meet hotel' for the weekend will once again be the Super Eight in Ferndale, WA. http://www.super8.com/hotels/washing...hotel-overview
These folks love it when we show up, and will do their best to make you feel at home.
Be sure to tell them you are there for the Studebaker Show to get a special rate during your stay.

Here is to hoping we'll see you this September.
Feel free to contact me with any and all questions you may have.
If I don't know the answer- I'll find someone who does.
Check back for updates as we get them.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it Bruce.

Hopefully folks know just how easy it is to get to Whatcom County...

We have an airport that is served by Alaska, Alligiant, and Horizon fly here from somewhere nearly everyday. Frontier does as well- but only during the Summer months, I'm just not sure when they stop flying into Bellingham. sorry.
We also have service from the rails thanks to AmTrak.
In the same building busses from Greyhound stop each and everyday.

Come one, come all- you'll have a blast!!!

The hotel with 2013 discounted Studebaker rooms is filling up.
If you are interested in a fun weekend, we hope to see you.

If you missed out on last year, please view the slide show and video below.

2012 Drive Your Studebaker Day at Bell's Diner & Museum, Bellingham, WA.

The turnout was great and 3 days of Studebaker activities in Bellingham really made it memorable weekend!

If you didn't make it last year, be sure to make reservations soon, because we hope to have Studebaker drivers break the 5,600 mile record getting here!

I might bring the Avanti if there are other folks from the eastern side of the state attending. For its first long trip I need mechanics...and moral support.

If, heaven forbid, anything should happen- lots of parts and more then a few folks who know their way around a Studebaker are here in Whatcom County ready to assist!!! It's just one more reason this show has grown into what it is. Two years ago my Parkview had issues. I managed to get her towed to the Open House and repaired while I was busy directing cars. Lots of kind helpful folks, no doubt!!!

Yes, in my case it was my Family helping out, but they would and have done the same for anyone had there been a need...

I was just at Boomers this past Sunday. It reminds me a little of Bonnie Doon's in Mishawaka.

I've not been to Bell's place before. I'd like to drive up this year. When will directions be available?

I believe that a flier will be in the August TW. Local Chapters should have them in their newsletters by now as well. Otherwise- shoot me a PM with your email address (I'm not certain I already have it) and I'll see about getting you one. Everyone else is free to do the same.

Cool- the 'half-sized' version is readable...
I was worried it'd be too small, and if all the work would be worth it.

I had all sorts of issues due to the initial copy being a PDF file.
So I printed that and then scanned it.
Next I shrank it by 50% because it was SOOO HUGE!!!
After six attempts with PhotoBucket, I gave up.
And then I had issues trying to get it to download here.
So I searched pic posting threads and found a solution that worked.
Luckily I had time on my hands, eh?
