            David,
Thanks for the pictures. Beautiful car. I really really love it. Although I would not have chosen those wheels myself, they look pretty dang good on that car. I think the gold compliments the blue nicely. I am still lusting after it. Hide the keys and keep the garage door closed in case I come by to visit.

So that's what 64's look like when they're shiny! Nice car!

How many of these Laguna Blue '64 Daytonas are for sale at this time? Something does not add up here or I have really misinterpreted something in these 53 posts!

I know a lot about Russ Haggen's 4 Speed Laguna Blue '64 Daytona Convertible since it was 10 miles from here and I was there when he bought it. He is a founding Member of our Chapter here.

What does not add up is his Car was a 4 Speed and from what I can get from this LONG string is that the researched Granatelli Car came with a Column Flight-O-Matic and was converted to Power Shift.

This was Russ Haggen's Daytona. He never made mention about the Granatelli connection but I learned of it after I bought the car by refering to Georgre Krems July 1986 Turning Wheels article. The car was originally a 289 engine with an automatic tranmission. Somewhere along the line it got changed to a 4 speed. I dont know is Russ did that or a prior owner. Hope that helps.

David, I am sure that Russ never researched it that much and did not know about the connection.
The funny thing is after all of the changes this poor Car has had, he strongly considered changed it to a Power Shift, not knowing it USED to be Automatic!
He even bought a parts Car along with it to do that. It was a very rare '64 Cruiser, Bordeaux Red with Red Cloth Bucket Seats and Console and 289 Power Shift.

"Parts" takes in a lot. The chassis is basically the same from 1951-1966. Assuming that you have a V8, the engine is basically the same from 1951/1955-1966. Most of the body panels are the same from 1964-1966. The hardest parts to find will be convertible specific parts.
When you receive your Turning Wheels from SDC you will learn that there are many large and small vendors that specialize in Studebaker parts.
