  • Injected Studebaker V8 in rear Engine rail in '57-'58

    This is from a Popular Mechanics special called " Hot Rod Handbook" from 1958.
    Hilborn Injectors , and Harmon Collins magneto.


    Also results from B-ville where a '56 GH set a "D" Coupe/ Sedan record at 145.16 MPH. Late 1957 .
    That was by Donald Stevens of Seattle , Washington . No pics of that

        Well, I did mean that there were no pics In that magazine .
        That pic in the other thread is from HRM apparently .
        However , there is a day by day narrative of the events at B-ville , and some info on the speeds in the up and back runs,
        in the Pop Mech. magazine .

        During a qualifying run , the car went 146.810 .
        The record runs , though , were 142.180 down , and 148.148 back for the average of 145.164 .
        I will post this on the other thread as well.
