Very nice car! I love the Starlights. I can't tell very well, but it appears that your Dad's car is a Custom model (C1), no gravel shields. The firewall tag would say for sure (9G-C1). If it is a C3 (rubber gravel shields) or C5 (stainless gravel shields). I have a C1 and it is alot of fun and gets ton of comments! Have fun with it!!!!

Hi John, no problem on posting the pictures. Thanks again for making this possible. As you can see from the photos Dad is very happy with his Christmas present. Pat, thanks again for checking the car out for me.

Mike, thanks for that very generous offer. I think the bullet on Dads car is in pretty good shape, but I haven't spent much time checking out the condition of the chrome. As you can see from how dirty it is in the photos we have been spending our time on the mechanicals. It hasn't even been washed since it arrived. I am sure Dad will get it out and wash it on the first warm day we have. I will check out the bullet and see how much pitting it has. I will let you know what I find.

Wayne, it's time to get a new roll of TP in that Frantz Oil Filter!

I have had excellent luck with the Frantz Oil "Cleaners" since 1963, just changing the tightly wound Scott 1000 single Ply works fine with the new adapter available at Frantz Dealers for the center oversize tube they now use on the TP.
The preferred Brand was always the old Chiffon 2 Ply. that is NLA now. Change it every 1000 to 2000 miles, add a Qt. and change Oil and Filter every year or Two is what I do.

Lab tests have proven that the Oil is not actually dirty/contaminated, just discolored after several years of Heat, ultra fine, slow Filtering, adding some of the Detergents back into the Oil with adding a Quart which is totally absorbed in the TP, filter Changes and NO Oil Changes, but I do it whether it needs it or not.

My Cars with the Full Flow Filter AND the Frantz by-Pass Filter never even have discolored Oil.

Opinions vary of course on anything as controversial as this, but proper installation, proper non-scented, non-quilted, NOT extra soft Paper and frequent Filter Changes have proven quite well on 1954 to '64 Stude. 6's and V-8's.
Your results and opinions MAY vary.
If you are not a believer, they always make a good Swap Meet item!

I was out of town for about a week for work. Dad wanted me to come over to the shop as soon as I got home. Apparently he had been washing and polishing the whole time I was gone. He was as proud as a peacock on how the paint polished up.

Mike, I sent you a PM regarding the bullet you offered. The one on the car has quite a bit of pitting and would need to be re-chromed to look good.
