  • No clear coat

I've been wondering about this ever since I did it. All of the chrome parts on my 50 Champion have been painted, but the paint was not clearcoated.
Does anyone know of problems I may have down the road with this. I love the color, just don't care for the shine.....

Problems "Could" be touching up a scrape or chip. The shine may be just because you need to buff the parts a little. If you had those parts powder coated, you may have to live with that sheen. Clearing over the parts now could be a problem later with peeling.

You can add a dulling agent to the clearcoat to kill the shine.
But you have to clearcoat within a certain amount of time after paint to have the clearcoat stick.
