  • The New England Sports Network videoed several Studebakers being driven on the highway, as well as on display during the SDC Zone Meet in Portland, Maine this past weekend. They also interviewed the owners.

    • I don't know if this has been posted before but I saw a Rodney Dangerfield movie, My 5 Wives, where he inherits a few wives in Utah. There is a red and white Transtar all through the movie.

I just watched these movies again recently. Are you referring to the grey one? It was a Starliner (2 door hardtop). I noticed it didn't appear to have the original shallow cone wheel-covers with the gold center. Looked great anyway!

Watch it again- across the street from the Starlight coupe- the building is a Studebaker dealer.

I took the time and looked at all the pages of this thread. I have three that I did not see.

            1. Ocean's Eleven with the original "rat pack" After the heist there is a roadblock scene outside Las Vegas and there is a 1956 Sunglow Gold and White sedan at the front of the roadblock.

2 Look Whose Talking. On the way to the hospital, the taxi cab blows by a 65 Daytona Sport Sedan, blue with a white top.

            3. Pretty Woman. Julia Roberts is driving a Lambo and passes the same 65 Daytona Sport Sedan. Must be a "company car"

              Freddie Mercury interview from 1985
They're sitting on a car bench seat next to a '50 Studebaker.

Language warning! The first one is pieced together, some of poor quality. Not sure if a complete version is out there. Second video says this interview was in Munich.

              • Don't know if this has been mentioned before, if it has, forgive me.
Watched an movie on TCM last night, Thieves Highway, with Richard Conte, Jack Oakie, Lee J. Cobb.
A trucking move from 1949 or so. Has a few US Army surplus Studebaker 6x6 trucks in it.
I again yelled "their Studebakers!" My wife rolled her eyes and left the room.

Queens music is legendary but Freddie Mercury driving a Studebaker?

He is definitely an odd one as he is using the bumper guard as a codpiece.

                  • Woodstock was on tv a few evenings ago. If you paid attention during the early part of the movie, you could occasionally spot a Studebaker or at least recognizable parts of a Studebaker.

                      • Watched (again) a little bit of 'The Shawshank Redemption' last night...
Thought I saw a white GT Hawk in the big arrest the warden scene...
Sure enough... IMCDB had it listed.

                        • Was watching the 1964 John Frankenheimer film Seven Days in May last night, and there's a GT Hawk sitting at the curb at Dulles Airport. Not a very common one to see in movies, even among an uncommon make!
That Shawshank one above was a good spot, too!

                          • Throughout Bruce Wagner's television miniseries, "Wild Palms," white 1963 Studebaker Avantis portrayed as police vehicles, appear in the background.

                            • My wife and I saw "Bridge of Spies" yesterday. Besides being a very good movie, at least one Studebaker as spotted. In a rainy NYC scene where Tom Hanks' character is trying to lose a CIA tail, a Lark passes by in the background. Later in East Berlin, what looks like a US6 supplied to the Soviets is in the scene and either a second truck in a later scene or is the same truck used again.

I also noticed what looks like the same American Jeep much modified to not look like a Jeep that was used in "Monuments Men" used again in East Berlin.

                              • Kathy Bates drives a '60 Lark in "Used People." There's also a '57 sedan in a funeral shot.
