Another H.A.M.B. find. An interesting front end treatment:

That was actually a "at-the-time" quite famous Studebaker kustom!

Not only a well done custom, but pretty much "period correct" for the components used.

If you have an "artist eye" you can find the seeds and concept of the '53 design as far back as 1947. It is in the front end of the frumpy 47 through 49 Studebaker. However, you have to remove the grille, and bumper...then stand back and look at it from about 15 feet away. There it is...

As if a Bourke K-body had a one-night-stand in El Lay with a '57 Corvette custom car show queen and that's the offspring.

Interesting that they changed everything else, but kept the original wheels. Today, the wheels are the first modification. Every $500 clunker has a $1500 set of 20" wheels and speed rated tires on it.

Looks like it's the same car as this one Larry Watson did & re-did several times:

Also taking a closer look at some of those old frontal view pics. (see above link), it kind of has some "design hints" of the '58 PACKARD Hawk with the "Teeth" replaced by "Dagmars" of course.

Wow! What a history this car has. I think light purple one the best.
