Also changed out the old bias ply tires for new radials (old goodyear pattern made by Kelsey Hayes). Couldn't believe how much better the old Hawk drives!

Ken, look closely, the rims on Jerry's 57 are "lip laced" where that one is center laced.

Don, these are "lip laced" chrysler type wire wheels. They were offered in both lip laced and center laced rims. They are 6" width and spacers are not used on the rear axle like they are if you use stock 50's Chrysler Wire Wheels.
Jerry used to have a set of original Chrysler wire wheels on this car but took them off as they needed re-plating. He went back to the stock tire size 7:10 - 15 if I remember right.

Yes they do. Doesn't seem to be an issue. The wheels have a liner that goes over the center where the spokes go thru.

Really, few cars cause me to get heart palpitations like a well dressed finned Hawk. The beautiful wheels are a fine touch. As they say...some day...
