Lark profits must have been burning a hole in Studebaker's pocket so they wanted to make some corporate acquisitions? It surprises me that they would entertain the idea of buying a truck manufacturer when Studebaker was so stindgy about investing any money in it's own truck division.

That's too bad the merger never happened......I'm certain there would have been a market for an R2 powered Divco milk truck... (but the driver had better sit down!)

One of the Studebaker dealers I bought out had a bunch of Divco parts books. I often wondered why. I was not aware of this potential merger so maybe this explains the books.
