Inline 6 170 Champion engine

I'm looking for a new block because mine is to fare gone. Thats all I need but if you have an engine that could work to. 1950 Champion inline 6 170 or also known as a 169.5 I believe.

Rob....I recently pulled one from a PU which I'm parting out. I believe it to be in very good shape. I'm down in Santa Barbara.

I have a completely rebuilt engine that's ready to go. Everything that could be new, is. It came out of a '51, so you'd have to use your '50 oil pan and a few other parts.

I also have a late 50's NOS short block, but it has pitting in the cylinders. Could be bored and rebuilt.

But, I'm also in Atlanta.

My son has a running champ 6 in his 55 HT which he is getting ready to pull in favor of a V8. I'm in Sacramento

My older brother pulled a perfectly good running flat-six and 3 speed tranny out of his 1949 Stude pickup, and replaced it with a 289 & T85. I think the flat six & tranny went into a holler somewhere

Remember that a 54 and older engine will fit, but a 55 and newer engine will need either a special oil pan or to have your oil pan modified.

Thanks, for the replys everyone I just got another personal to look at my block and he says he think he can save it. Hopfully it can be, if not I will diffently need one.

If the cylinder walls are messed up, they can always be sleeved. You don't have to do every one if only 1 or 2 are damaged. If keeping the original number engine is important, that's the way to go.
