Exhaust out the backup lights? Not a bad idea but not for me. Is that the car that's on ebay right now? Holy crud the more I see of it the more I like it. I don't have backup lights but I do have a nos pair of those fender spears!!! Thanks to Mr. Quinn.

The exhaust is going to be a tough one but I have motor plates front and rear of the block instead of motor mounts and my front crossmember has holes in the web of it for the exhaust to pass thru. If I can get away with it I would like for them to turn out in front of the rear tire.

Get yourself some stock backup light bezels and run the exhaust out them.... That would be cool. You're not going to have any trunk space anyway....

junior, Yes they do come threaded you buy rights and lefts but mine shrank slightly when they were welded and the rod didn't thread in properly.

very nice...would take me at least 2 months to get done what took you 2 weeks. You lost me with the LH tap...was the for the joint ends on the Panhard bar and 4 links......I thought those came with weld-on threaded bungs. Car is going to look wicked with those serious hides, especially from the back side. Keep us posted. Regards, Junior.

I've also been thinking about how to get the exhaust pipes to pas & I've been thinking that it's the diameter that does it so how about using oval-diameter pipes in some places?

Thanks Guys, Sal the Body is still just buzz can primered and tucked away in my other garage. All the sheetmetal work is done as far as tubbing it and the hump for the tranny had to be raised a bit. It does come on and off the car with ease now after a few modifications to the firewall and inner fenders. Nox, you are right its not just a Swedish thing. I ran out of time yesterday and have to trim down a flat bar that width. the entire upper mount is made of 1/4" thick cold roll steel though. It was left over from reinforcing theframe. Dan, I took out eight inches per side to make room for the Mickey Thompson 6655's they say they are 18" wide but really don't quite measure that. Dean I thnk you narrowed the rear of a Studebaker frame even more than I did. How much came out? I removed 11 inches. Your rear shock mount is right about where mine was also. Looking good.
What will you do for exhaust pipes? You can see there isn't much room to get through there. I managed, but one pipe bonks the top of the rear end housing on big bumps. I'm also tlooking to hang an electric fuel pump right now, and there is no room anywhere.

I would weld a flat strip horizontal on top of those vertical strips that holds the shock-absorbers to keep them from twisting.
But that's just me being Swedish...

Got my narrowed rear end installed finally thought i would post some pictures.
Shock mounts were a bugger along with having to wait for a 5/8x18 left handed tap just to pay $38.00 to use it for thirty minutes. But hey I have one now and apparently the are slightly rare.
Haha, anyway here are some pics. What do you guys think?
