Gas door guard for 53

Anyone have a gas door guard for a 53 coupe, with the tri star, for sale ? If not, does anyone have one they would post a picture of ? PM if you like. Thanks

Good Luck. I saw one come up on E-bay about 3 or 4 years ago and like a fool I let it get away. Havent seen one, even looking at show cars, since. Steve

I have never seen one with the tri-star emblem, but I do have some of the 'L' shaped ones for the early coupes.

The 1953 version had the tri-star on the upright portion of the guard. The 1954, and up, versions were just plain.
I believe that they were both AC-2409, with a running change.

I have one from the dealer on my 53 but those parts are being stored during the resto. If I can get there and dig it out I'll snap a pic.

The coupe gas door guards WITHOUT the dorsal fin (as in the repos) look a bit 'cleaner'. (In My Opinion)

OK so I dug mine out of storage and it does not have the tri star on it. I know the history of this car from the time it was delivered to the dealer and all the accessory chrome trim was put on then, they wanted to use it for a demo with all the bells and whistles on it. I guess all they had at the time was the plain ones.
