  • '56 Commander Parkview FS; from AACA forum

Saw this nice Parkview on the AACA forum and thought, "this guy's really limiting his audience!"

So...he wasn't limiting his audience. He just doesn't know the SDC forum exists.

Had one just like it.....a bit odd that this one has '55 1/4 panel script (Commander) on the front fenders, and 'Studebaker' instead of 'Parkview' on the tailgate.

You know- as many times as I've looked these pictures over-
I never noticed either one of those details-- good eye!!!

Makes one wonder if somewhere in this car's life an owner got tired of explaining that Parkview was the model, not the make.
Gotta love Studebaker's idea of making one set of holes for the man different scripts they used during those lean years.

            Say, that reminds me...
Carl- how'd that 'Parkview' script work out for ya?

Haven't got brave enough to drill the holes. The studs on the script are not round.

TO: ST2DE5,----Yes, but You can get round 'barrel nuts' that those rectangular pins will fit into at a body shop supply store.

But my tail gate is a new one. It has no holes in it.

ST2DE5,----Well, first obtain the barrel nuts that Your pins fit snugly into, then, even if You need to drill a few test holes in another panel, determine what drill bit You need. And if Your lucky enough to
still have the original gate....use that for a template as to where exactly to drill the holes.

I'm pretty sure this was on craigslist in CO awhile back for less than half what hes asking now but he probably had to go through the car as it had been sitting . I thought it was a great deal then but too far away.

Looks to be in great shape! If this one is worth twelve grand, I'll take five for Bess in a heart-beat!

Looks like it was originally turquoise or blue. I can see some paint through the left front wheel opening. Some showing in the interior too.
