  • 1957 Commander & 1957 Provincial

I've got (2) 1957 Studebakers, one is a Commander & the other is a Provincial wagon. They've both been outside for awhile; both pretty rough, but would probably be good as misc. parts cars. They both have the original paint, most of the original glass; a lot of the original trim is still there and in decent shape. My dad was holding on to both of them for no apparent reason; never seemed to have any interest in restoring them. Now my mom is looking to sell them to people who will get the best possible use out of them and make a little money at the same time.

*IMPORTANT NOTE*: I don't want to have "pickers" coming in & buying a part here, a part there, and end up with two skeletonized hunks of rust sitting there 20 years from now. What we really need to do is simply sell these vehicles as-is & get them off my mom's property. Thanks for your interest.

Yes indeed- bring on the pictures!!!
Details of each would be nice too.
Like what body is the Commander? (2 doors or four?)
What transmissions and options do they have?

Pete, I'm about 30 miles from you. I'd like to come and take a look at them. If you click on my name in the upper left corner of this post, you can send me a private message as to how to contact and find you. I can put up photos here if you want to email them to me.

I'm pretty sure the Commander has an auto trans. & the Provincial has a manual 3-speed. As far as other options, I don't think either has AC. Let me know if you want to know of any other details.

Pete, I'm gonna be over Strathmore way next week one day. How would I find you? I might be interested in some parts.

I understand where you're coming from, Rosco, but we're looking to move these cars off the property, either one at a time or a package deal for both. Hope you understand!

Thanks for the pictures and the nice PM Pete.
Now I've got some (more) thinking to do...

Golly, the Commander 2-door has duals...and my favorite 1957 two-tone! SIGH....

"Hope you can do something with them, Bob BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Bob, BOB??? Methinks perhaps these two old beauties are perhaps now residing with one '57 pickup named Pete???

I had planned to, but then my GrandMother passed away.

Along with a certain '57 President 2 door sedan named 'Ike'?
                          I can picture it too...

I've done nothing towards these cars. Don't plan to.

If no one else in interested in these cars, I might be. My problem is getting them the three hundred plus miles home. Is there anyone in the area who is willing to help me with a place to keep them for a while? It might have to be till spring as Fawn Lodge is socked in with snow right now. At the moment I couldn't do more than pass out a few sheckles to take them off Pete's hands. Then again, I've sent a PM last week and another tonight. Still haven't heard back and maybe he already sold them?
