Typo, I bet. Some people might think their stuff is worth that, but the market is a great levelor.

        Where you gonna get another?

I would not pay that price either but someone might.

I bet that is one of those old mechanical clocks that has a spring that is rewound by the electrical when the key is on.

I do not like to see auction sites used as a plain sales tool with a BIN only. I can understand an auction with a reserve and/or also a BIN.

There's another NOS clock on there. It has a BIN for less but it's still too rich for me.

They are mechanical and are wound every few minutes by a set of points that lets the juice activate the magnet that in turn winds the clock.

if your driving your car you can't hear the clock but if your just sitting in the car not running and the windows up , you'll hear it ticking (unless your hard of hearing,<g> )
.and its not a loud ticking

i just saw your pic in the other thread about the wiper knob and noticed you have a (non-working?) clock. i've seen clock repair ads on ebay and elsewhere. perhaps the one you have can be removed and shipped for service. some can also remove the "innards" and replace with a modern "quartz" movement.

sorry my clock terminology is incorrect. i'm not a master of clock/watch repair.

might check with some studebaker vendors: http://www.studebakervendors.com/

but i'm sure someone on the forum does this work or can recommend folks that do.

I used to play pinochle with a guy who's philosophy was "You never know what you can get away with 'til you try." Maybe he is selling clocks on Ebay now?
