    I have a '60 Hawk rear, the tag says 44.

      What gear ratio is it? If the tag is there it will be stamped something like 3.73 or you will have two sets of numbers such as 43/13, 41/11 or something similar.

        Well, the housing says 44, but I believe the tag is gone.

          The only way to know for sure is to remove the cover and count the teeth on the pinion, count the teeth on the ring gear, then divide those two numbers and then you will know your gear ratio.

            No "counting" required...!
            The tooth count is stamped on the o.d. of the ring gear. Just divide the smaller number into the larger number = the ratio.

            And Currie still has what you want...! As do other off-road/Jeep shops.
