In 1955 she purchased a new two tone blue President State Sedan from Pitcher Motors in Poughkeepsie, NY. She also owed a Conestoga wagon at the time. She died in 1962 at age 78 and whether she continued her practice of buying a new Studebaker every year from 1955-62 I cannot say with certainty. I would doubt, however, given her status that she would have purchased a Scotsman. If you have documentation to the contrary I would be interested in seeing it.
When I talked to Eleanor in 1961, she arrived in a Chrysler station wagon.
There were a lot of Studebaker dealers here in Dutchess County, but Pitcher Motors was by far the largest. Pitcher was also a Mercedes-Benz dealer and continued to sell Studebakers to the end (1966).
I am glad, but not surprised, that you spelled Pitcher Motors correctly. I see erroneous spellings regularly.

I didn't read every post here, but, I didn't see anything political in the OP. Some people are thinned skin here.

I took it to mean "Studebaker sense". Have any of his sons owned Studebakers? Does Lee have a history of political comments here? I don't know.
