Sunday was my Alfa Romeo club annual picnic at Toro Canyon Park. We had over twenty
Alfa's present including my 1969 Alfa Spyder. We were sitting around telling Alfa tales when a dull roar turned into a smashing exhaust rumble and zipping toward our picnic area was
a 1933 Studebaker Indy racer that proceeded to park in the line of Alfas.
I spoke with the driver, Mike Cleary, who apologised since his Alfa (maybe Ferrari?) wasn't ready to bring to the Alfa event. Now we do allow other Italian marks to come to the event but all adopted the "Italian" Studebaker. Curious when you least expect it --STUDEBAKERS appear.
