  • Studebaker Cake..........

Saw that one pic, and my daughter reminded me of a sheet cake she did for me a few years ago.....
So... Being the curious type, I started a search for Studebaker cakes...
    Here's some that I found....
    Feel free to add more!

      WOW.
I'm curious about the mileage - as in, "How many miles will it take for me to walk off that delicious Hawk?!

Add this one to your collection. It was done last year as a end of term present for the local AACA chapter president.

I like the young couple - on a Lark.
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

                Probably not.
This is what she told me about the construction and ingredients.
" It is a 1963 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk. Since the winners never eat the cake, I used krispie treats for the body. To make this car I used 5 lbs. fondant, 4 lbs. gumpaste, 4 bags marshmallows, 2 family size boxes of krispies, 2 batches royal icing, 2 batches of decorator icing...that's about 12+- pounds of sugar. I' ve been working on it for a couple of weeks [since no one was going to eat it].
Hope you enjoy it as much as I have."
The builder is an "old car" woman too (has a pre-war Packard). She is a professional cake decorator and she does this each year for the retiring chapter president. The Hawk was shown at the AACA Apple Blossom Show in Winchester, VA. I didn't there this year so I don't know what she did. I had thought about doing a TW article about her and the cake, but just haven't gotten to it (not unusual for me).
Here are a couple she did in the past.

                    Yeah...right...
I can see the Studegang arguing over ingredients....
And you thought ZDDP threads were bad

UHHH....Think about the logistics of such. Transport the finished product in your already cramped vehicle, or on a plane? Or bring all the supplies and build at the meet? Bet those scenarios aren't too appealing to the Stude bakers.
