  • Yet Another Reason to Want to Be in South Bend!

We are experiencing record breaking heat and drought in Oklahoma right now... in fact, we are among one of the hottest areas in the nation, to wit:

So exactly how long does it take to cook a "baked Dave?"

(hope you're not working in that shop!)

You need a modern thermometer. The new ones read up to 160. I've gotten a LOT of use out of our Pool. Funny how it can feel "not too hot" floating on a raft if blazeing 104 degree heat....love that pool. You know, a 1953 stude 4 dr CAN be modified to enclose a nice pool behind the rear seat. Yeah.... I hear you on HEAT. Pretty soon these "events" are going to need to be moved to mid October.

Not long to bake a Dave!

Not in the back room of the shop, or working, fer sure!

I am in the front room, chillin'!:

But, I'd still rather be in South Bend!

Trying to keep some things hydrated, 'llac... I'm pumping water to some shrubs and trees tonight, but methinks we're gonna lose some, anyway. This drought follows one from last year, with a mild winter in between.

Likely, given Oklahoma weather history, we should have floods next fall or spring.

                Sure hope so!

Saw a dog chasing a cat yesterday - and they were both walking.

Gee, thanks, Don. I feel so much better now. <G>

As if the heat is not enough, Oklahoma is burning today, wild fires all over the place.

Prayer appreciated for our fire fighters, first responders, and those losing homes and property.

This has been one weird summer so far. Usually around here its 100 degrees plus from July on but we've had maybe just one day so far thats gone over 100. The bad part is this heat is hitting the parts of the country where we are not prepared to deal with it & the wildfires and all the things they are connected with just multiplies. Hope everyone doesnt have any ill effects from this & gets through the rest of the summer & fall intact.
