Hear are a few early morning pics from the NE Zone Meet in Rutland, VT.

There were about 65 vehicles registered as of Friday evening.

The weather cooled off from the recent 90's and should be perfect for a car show.

Love the Zip Van. Can anyone tell me when the last Zip Van was retired by the Postal Service? I started my career in 1974 and there were no zip vans in the town where I worked. They were only about 10 years old at the time so they must have still been in service somewhere in this country at that time. I know the DJ5 Jeeps were supposed to last for 8 years and the USPS used some of them over 24 years.

          Anybody know?

The license plate frame on that Lark is a loooong way from 'home' in SoCal!!!

I sure hope Dad doesn't see that or the two tone blue '58 Silver Hawk...

Just returned to New Jersey from the NorthEast Zone Meet. I arrived very early on Thursday because of the predicted heat. The hotel gave me room at 10 AM for no additional fee. I was the only Stude guy there until Wes Burges showed up that day as he was already in the area due to a funeral. The two of us quickly made friends and within 24 hour the place was "a buzz" with Studes. I enjoyed every aspect of the event. Nice job to the folks up there. From NJ to Rutland GOOD JOB.

As uneventful as one can have driving a Stude. I still jumped out of my seat when someone next to me blew their horn and yelled NICE CAR MAN!!!!!! Trust me I typed in caps but it is louder when you are driving with the windows down and looking at four gages and praying. Yeah it's loud but fun.

Here are a few more photos. On Sunday morning, a fabulous New England summer day, we took a driving tour to the Revolutionary War battlefield in Hubbardton, VT. It's a beautiful setting in the Green Mountains about 25 miles east of Ft Ticonderoga, NY. Larry and Barbara Golub had their white '64 R1 Wagonaire right behind us for part of the trip; my wife and I had our blue '65 Wagonaire. There is no finer experience than being part of a group of Studebakers winding through the two-lane roads of rural Vermont on a sunny day. We put about 450 miles on the car, had only a sprinkle of rain the whole weekend.

I really admire that Zip Van. Hope mine looks half as good one day. The 64 convertible looks fantastic as does all the others. A great representation for Studebaker today. I look at all the greenery there & miss that beauty that you see back east. Out here its somewhat green for a few weeks during the rainey season but soon turns to brown afterwards. Thanks to all for posting great pictures.
