Just out of curiosity, did they come from the factory with the hood bulge and trunk lid painted different colors?

No, they didn't. A 1961 Hawk should be monotone with the exception of the fin stripe that should be ivory.

Not that it would change your mind, but it IS Saddle Tan, much prettier than Brown.

At least it does not actually CLASH, like the few early 1950's Cars built with Red Interiors in Green Cars!

Says completely original but then says off the frame restoration. Cannot be original if restored. He probably meant restored to original specs.

In August of 1961, my mother bought a brand new Riviera Blue 1961 Hawk with a factory RED vinyl interior. In August, it was sale time on the remaining '61 cars, and she had her heart set on a Riviera Blue Hawk, but the only one available from that dealer's stock was the one with the red interior. And, actually, it looked much better than it sounds.

The owner of that car is a good friend of mine.
He worked at the Studebaker factory helping to build cars.
He continued working at restoring studebakers untill the age of 84.
The cars he restored were all show winners and some of the people that bought them
kept on showing them and winning.
He put his personal touch on all of them, trying to personalize each one he restored.
I asked him to paint the front fenders on my coupe express because of their size I was afraid of getting
                          runs or other problems.
He painted the driverside front fender that I modified just two weeks ago, at his advanced age.
                          I painted every thing else.

I resent a few of you faulting this man's work.

The car is beautiful and if I had the extra cash and a place to put it I would bring it to NC. I like the personal touch he did with the car and from the looks of his paint work in the pics this car is FIRST Class.....

Very nice Hawk and worth the asking price. Blue isn't my favorite color for a finned Hawk as I don't think it shows up the body lines well. But I'd still love to own and drive it!

I don't think the guys are downgrading his work, just noting that it is not an "original" car and not restored to strictly show room specs. Looks like he does very nice work.
