Looks better than many I have seen for sale. Just some duct tape, bailing wire, and $30,000 will make a nice street rod.

I guess I was dreaming. If the buyer can do all the restoration themselfs it might work. If it has to be farmed out much more. Not too hard to dump $100K into one.

Yes, I know right where Lexington Illinois is and have been there on numerous occasions though not lately. I am not familiar with this particular truck and I will not be making an offer on it. Too big of a project. I have owned 4 of the '39s and just sold my last one in May. Still have a nice '38.

I am a bit surprised that no one commented on a various obvious anomaly on this truck. It has a '40 Commander front clip (as well as body mouldings). This is the 3rd one of these I have seen and I am beginning to wonder if perhaps Studebaker may have upgraded the unsold '39s they had in stock to '40 front end components. The one I know of belongs to Vern Kahldahl in Hardy, NE and he has it restored (looks great). He claims that there was no evidence of any amateur replacement.

Seems like these are coming out of the wood work lately.
