Gee... read through all the posts on this topic and saw no mention of great [u]TRUCK</u> names - Transtar,[8D] Scotsman (appropriate for the time, but not PC these days[}]) and Champ[8D]... recalling that Transtar was so good it was picked up by the competition after Studebaker quit making them[:0]. 'Course, I might be a bit biased.

The 56 wagons were named for country clubs. Pinehurst is in North Carolina, I think Parkview was in Canada. Not sure where Pelham was.

PELHAM...Henry Pelham was Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1743-1754 according to good 'ol Google. I liked Studebaker's station wagon names in the 1950s...they were stately names for stately cars.

Pelham Country Club is in Pelham, New York.

According to Google, Parkview is also in New York.

I've always liked Wagonaire; not just Wagon, but Wagonaire. [)]

Transtar is a good one, as is Gran Tourismo and Avanti.

I agree with Leonard on the St. Regis Brougham. That name just screams elegance and sophistication. Another one that comes to mind is President Skyway.
