Doors are the same. Post the serial number and model number and we can tell you exactly what the truck is.

The C-cab doors and their internal parts all are identical, 49-64. Some had extra holes for mouldings or rain visors. Remove doors with the hinges attached if possible, as the hinges wear out. There were only two basic hood designs, 49-55 and 56-end. See this list for model/series info. Don't use the serial number, use the model number.

Well- on my bus the s/n and body tag are located very near each other~

The view in that picture is looking towards the left front corner of the driver's compartment.
That blob you see on the right is the clutch pedal.

Sorry to be a pain- but I'd really like to see pictures of that, or the others. As you can see-
mine got painted over- and I'd like to know what it is supposed to look like!!!

That's interesting that the body tag is there. That's the only body tag I've ever seen that's not mounted on the cowl under the hood. Either way, it should still be painted body color or whatever color the cowl is.
I wonder if the bus body behind the cowl has its own body/serial number?

The answer to that is "yes" indeed!!!

Well, it took longer then I thought it would to get a decent shot of them together, but here they are~

The opening sure looks the same to me. For reference~ the tire sizes are-
7.50-16LTs on the Transtar, and 7.50-20s on the front of the bus.

(yes- the rear tires on the bus are bigger- 8.25-20s...)
