From the archives #91 (Studebaker camper bus 1926)

I am sure there is an interesting story regarding these people and their 1926 Big Six camper/bus....but I have no idea what it is. I am guessing we have a father, mother and son here but we can't be sure. I do know the bus is parked on the south side of the Studebaker Administration building (Bronson Street) heading west. I will leave it to your speculation to fill in the blanks. However I can tell you that I would not want to be traveling cross country with that lady!! (If that happens to be your grandmother I am sure she was a charming, witty, intelligent and kind soul.)

Maybe she's still upset about having a son of such large proportions, that they had to buy a custom vehicle to drive around in! I mean look at how tall he is compared to "Dad" and to the vehicle. Maybe it is a young Clifford Thompson from this photo:

Yes, I noticed the "son" was kinda of "a tall drink of water," as Abraham Lincoln was called. Really hard to determine how tall but probably 6' 6" at least. Brings up a interesting trivia question. What Studebaker chief executive (president) was the tallest and how tall?

You win ( I did read one source that said 6'3")! In any event about the same height as Abraham Lincoln out tallest U.S. President (Madison was the shortest).

I think the misery guts expressions were common in those times or at least when the older folks were growing up, don't think too many smiled in photographs.

By my pixel measuring calculator, he is at least 2.13 times as tall as the spare tire. What size is the spare?

Considering when that women was born and how many changes she had seen in her lifetime - she probably had every reason to be angry - and then some.

The President of my former chapter in Texas had a motor home made from a late 20's/early 30's President...pretty neat but would have been pretty terrible in the corners
